Cauliflower

 Storage Tips

  • Cauliflower can develop mold in the florets very easily, so to keep it fresh, make sure to keep it dry when storing in the fridge. Place unwashed into a loose plastic bag with a clean rag or paper towel underneath in the refrigerator. Eat within a few days.

Culinary Tips

  • To cut cauliflower, turn the head upside down and carefully cut away the individual florets. For Larger pieces, cut along the stem just until you hit the florets. Remove the knife and pop the florets apart to avoid the cut cauliflower from shedding everywhere.

  • While cauliflower looks similar to broccoli, the cooking time is a little longer because cauliflower is more dense.

  • Roasting, grilling, searing, highlights the nuttiness of the cauliflower.

  • For cauliflower “rice”: Cut into florets, and place in batches into the food processor. Pulse several times until the consistency of rice. Saute onion and add cauliflower “rice” to skillet and cook until it has a nice tender bite.
