Kohlrabi


 

 Storage Tips

  • Remove leaves from bulb and store in plastic bag in fridge. Bulb will store for weeks, but eat greens immediately.

  • Fall kohlrabi, which is a storage variety can be stored for months in sealed plastic bag in crisper drawer.

Culinary Tips

  • Peel tough skin away from bulb until the white interior flesh shows.

  • Grate into salads, slice and dip in hummus for a snack, slice and serve with lime and salt, or slice and put on sandwiches for a refreshing crunch.

  • The leaves are edible! If your kohlrabi comes with greens, strip the leaves off of the stems and treat like you would collard greens. Braise, throw into soups and stews or just sauté with garlic and butter.
