Storage Tips
Pie pumpkins can be stored for most of the winter in the right conditions. Stored best in 50-60 degree temperature, which does not drastically fluctuate. Make sure the squash has really good airflow around it and the humidity is low. Do not store in direct sunlight.
Culinary Tips
This is a variety of pumpkin meant to be eaten! They are small and generally much tastier than your normal Jock-O-Lantern pumpkin for eating. Pumpkins can be treated like any other winter squash for eating—and of course you can separate and roast the seeds for snacks!
Pie Pumpkins can be make into soups, stews, purees, and it is delicious roasted. And of course, you can roast or steam them and make them into pumpkin pies! See the recipe below for making puree which can be used for any pie recipe.
